The Caliphate: Its Rise, Decline and Fall is a history book about Islam, written by Christian Islamic scholar William Muir.
It is an abridgment and continuation of his earlier book, Annals of the Early Caliphate, which brings the record down to the fall of the caliphate on the onset of the Mongols.
