It's a Sunshine Day is a 1973 song from the popular television sitcom The Brady Bunch. It's a Sunshine Day first appeared on the 26 January 1973 episode of The Brady Bunch, entitled Amateur Night.
[edit] About the Song
In the 26 January 1973 episode of The Brady Bunch (Amateur Night), the Brady kids want to raise money to buy their parents a new silver platter for their anniversary. However, Jan mixes up the price. When the children go to buy the new platter, the clerk tells them that they don't have enough money. So, the kids decide to enter a new amateur singing contest. They call their group The Silver Platters, since that's what they want to buy.
On the night of the television airing, the kids' parents, Carol and Mike, don't know that their children are live on TV. When they do find out, they are surprised. The two songs the children sing are Keep On and It's a Sunshine Day. The kids end up losing the contest to "prancing poodles." Much to their surprise, Mike saves the day by paying the remaining cost the kids would have had they won.
