"It's Too Late" is one of two Grammy Award winning song from Carole King's 1971 album, Tapestry (see 1971 in music). Toni Stern wrote the lyrics and King wrote the music. The song was covered by The Isley Brothers on their 1972 album, Brother, Brother, Brother, reaching number thirty-nine on the R&B chart, by Billy Paul on his 1972 album, 360 Degrees of Billy Paul and Gloria Estefan on her 1994 album Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me. Dina Carroll also covered the song in 1991, with the band Quartz and was her first hit, reaching #8 in the UK. Amy Grant performed "It's Too Late" on the all-star 1995 tribute album Tapestry Revisited: A Tribute to Carole King.
"It's Too Late" has been featured in Hollywood films, including 2006's The Lake House and "Invincible".
