It's Time 4 Plan B is a limited edition mixtape by Plan B. It came free with Hip Hop Connection in May 2006 and is mixed by regular Plan B DJ, Beni G.
Despite being an attempt to raise publicity for Plan B and his forthcoming debut album, contained only two tracks from the album, one of which would be heavily altered. Kidz, which would appear on the album Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, features here in the original, acoustic guitar version, as it was released on limited edition double a-side vinyl, as opposed to the album version which contains heavy production. The other album track, Sick 2 Def, is largely similar except for being mixed into the two tracks surrounding it and the occasional scratching sound effect. My Life would later be used, in an extended format, on the Live At The Pet Cemetery EP.
Intro is a soundclip of a complaint against Plan B's offensive music mixed and toyed around with, with Plan B replying "you ain't banning shit", which would later be his intro for his first tour - similarly No Good, far from being the single, is a 38 second remix of the opening lines by Beni G as an interlude between two songs. How's It Feel? is an early song by the artist and features his friend Skrein; on the track the former influences the latter to commit various violent crimes through dialogue between the two, only for it to transpire that Plan B is merely a voice inside Skrein's head. Rakin' The Dead is a humorous song about a naive boy called Craig discovering a shallow grave near Wanstead Flats and assuming it is treasure, rather than the dead body it actually contains; it was included as a bonus track on the album when downloaded from iTunes. Some1's Switched In Harvey Nicks is a live favourite and is loosely based on the Mitchell Brothers song, Harvey Nicks, which was coincidentally released the same week as the shop clerk was shot by her ex-boyfriend. Plan B claims he was reading about this in the paper having just supported the Mitchell Brothers and was inspired to write a much more visceral version of the song, but felt it should not be used to make money because of its nature.
