It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me was a hit song by Barry White. The song was written by Ekundayo Paris and Nelson Pigford. Similar to the initial reaction after first hearing his earlier hit "You're the First, the Last, My Everything," when those close to White heard the demo of "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me," they burst into laughter.[1] Like before, White believed that the song would be a hit and was proven correct. Released from his album, Barry White Sings for Someone You Love, it spent five weeks at the top of the R&B singles charts during the fall of 1977. It was also a big hit on the pop charts, peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
