"It's Chico Time" is the first single by X Factor contestant Chico. Chico performed the song on the show on 19 November 2005. It was released in the UK on 27 February 2006 and entered the UK Singles Chart at #1 on 5 March 2006.
The song was written and composed by Mark Hudson[1][2] with Chico contributing some of the lyrics himself. The general theme of the song is to not take life too seriously and just party, as life is too short.
The video is low-budget, with a plain white background with lines of red, yellow and orange and a staircase where Chico stands at the beginning of the video. The video features many children (known as "Chiquettes") dancing along with Chico.

[edit] Cover Versions
The song was covered by Operacion Triunfo Series 6 finalist Chipper. He sang the song live on May 27, 2008 when the gala show took place. He gave a soulful version of the song, and changed the word 'chico' to his name 'chipper' as I'ts Chipper Time. He was saved from nomination. Operacion Triunfo is the spanish equivalent of X Factor, more specifically Fame Academy. [3]
