Isuzu Yamada

Isuzu Yamada (山田五十鈴; born 5 February 1917) is a Japanese actress. She had major roles in films such as The Lower Depths (1957), Throne of Blood (1957) and Yojimbo (1961), all of which were directed by Akira Kurosawa, and also appeared in films by Kenji Mizoguchi and Yasujiro Ozu.
As well as working in television and theater, Isuzu Yamada has won three Golden Ribbons and two Life Achievement Awards from the Japanese Academy.
