[edit] Istiklal, İstiklal or İstiklâl?

I saw in the history that Istiklal has been changed to İstiklal. I agree with this movement, but I think we should go all the way and use İstiklâl. The surconflex is an important part of Turkish orthography.

It is true that the surconflex is important part of the Turkish language. That said it was officially removed from the language in 1992. So if you walk on Istiklal now, you will see modern street signs without it, and older signs with it. Just a thought. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.140.194.107 (talkcontribs) 22:05, 15 January 2007.
