Istočno Sarajevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Источно Сарајево; English: East Sarajevo) is a city in the Republika Srpska adjacent to its capital Sarajevo to its northeast. It is not a highly urbanized area despite officially being a city as it is basically the pre-war part of Sarajevo now in Republika Srpska.

It was previously known as Srpsko Sarajevo (Српско Сарајево, Serb Sarajevo) but the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina adjudicated its name change.

Due to the changes in the municipal borders due to the recent war, it is only possible to estimate the area population at 71210.

As the de jure capital of Republika Srpska is Sarajevo, this city is interpretated by some as the capital of the Republika Srpska. However, the de facto capital of the Republika Srpska is Banja Luka which is the government seat.
