Israeli Democracy Institute

The Israeli Democracy Institute is Non-profit organization in Israel, founded in 1991, which aims at forming policies and to initiate reforms in the different fields of the state and its institutions in order to apply laws, implement them and to strengthen the democracy values in Israel.

[edit] Constitution in the concurrence
In 2001 the institute established a public council leaded by Meir Shamgar in order to consolidate aמ Israeli constitution which would be agreed upon by all the current currents in Israel. The public council included ninety people from the academy, politics, religion and more which come from a variety different currents and opinions.

The program is operated together with the Ministry of Education which is activated in 150 schools in Israel from different sectors, and provides activities of enrichment and discussions on subjects such as democracy to the teachers staff and to the students.
[edit] The Guttmann Center
A center which is run by the Israeli Democracy Institute and has existed since 1947 and constitutes the biggest directory of surveys and studies regard with the public opinions and examines different social indexes which includes 1200 studies which were conducted since 1947.

Conducting Seminars and forums in the different subjects on the agenda of the state of Israel.
[edit] The Caesarea Forum
Since 1993 the Israeli Democracy Institute conducts "The Caesarea forum" which is an economic convention which discusses the different aspects of the Israeli economy. The chairman of the discussion is the Israeli treasury minister and the participants are conducted of politicians, businessmen and scholars.
The Caesarea Forum has been heavily criticized by different Israeli Social Democratic organizations that it only represents the wealthy population of Israel, indicates only the economic achievements of the state which are the fruits of the rich sector and neglects and perpetuate the condition of the poor population in Israel, which bad situation comes from it being exploited by the wealthy sector.

Publication and advertising books, paperworks of the conventions and different studies about different aspects of democracy in the Israeli society.
