ISO/IEC JTC1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ISO/IEC JTC 1 is Joint Technical Committee 1 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It deals with all matters of information technology.
JTC 1 members are national standards organisations, divided into Participating (P) Members and Observer (O) Members. Other organisations participate as Liaison Members, some internal to ISO/IEC and some external.
Membership is open to any national body. Membership greatly expanded in August and September 2007, just prior to the initial vote on Office Open XML as DIS (Draft International Standard) 29500.
