Ismayil Shykhly

Ismayil Shykhly (Azerbaijani: İsmayıl Şıxlı; 1919 - 1995) was Azerbaijani writer.

Shykhly was born on March 22, 1919 in Ikinji Shykhly village in Qazakh region of Azerbaijan. Between 1942 and 1945, Shykhly participated in World War II. He was a teacher by profession and wrote a number of books on ancient and national traditions. His most famous work, "Turbulent Kura" (Dəli Kür) was filmed in 1969 by Azerbaijanfilm.
