For the sake of maintaining NPOV, I have removed two instances from the "Nation of Islam" section where rather fervent assertions against the group's status as Muslims were made. This seemed to me to be a case of apologetics.--TheBrigand 10:28, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't this be merged with/re-directed to Jacob?--iFaqeer 01:20, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC)

  • No, because the Jacob article is based on the way Jacob is known in the Book of Genesis, but Yaqub is entirely re-interpreted by Islam and the Nation of Islam so as to have almost no similarity with the original character. IZAK 03:08, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Nonetheless, Yaqub and Jacob are really the same person. It is only Yakub under the Nation of Islam that takes a curve. I think Yaqub and Jacob should be merged, including a brief explanation and link to Yakub --Eliyak 23:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NOI?

I'm not a fan of the NOI but the current article suggests it had nothing to do with Islam, which is of course not true. Perhaps it should say "the NOI (cult based on Islam)..." or something similar? --AYBGerrardo 20:23, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
