[edit] POV

I don't normally post the {{NPOV}} template on pages, but this one is just unbelievable. Upon completing this article, one has no choice but to think the school's teachers and students are terrorists. And the few sources mentioned in this article are horrendously biased against Saudis and Muslims. joturner 05:17, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

This article is truly one of the most biased article in Wikipedia. It doesn't display any facts about the school instead it just compares it to a terrorist training camp, which it is not.

I think it is interesting how this article fails to mention that the majority of the teachers who work at the school are non-Muslim Anglo Americans. So am I supposed to believe that these non-Muslim Anglo Americans work at a school that preaches hate and violence against them? That does not make any sense. Furthermore, if the originator of this article has ever visited the school they would quickly notice that the way they characterize the school is false. This is the worst entry I have ever encountered on Wikipedia. The ISA entry contains no information about the school but merely attempts to connect it to terrorism. There is no mention that Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz and the Bush family are thoroughly connected. If the author wanted to illustrate "notable ties" the school has, why was this tie not mentioned.

Whoa there! I never put that comment there. But I did add teh tides.MOI 20:27, 19 March 2007

[edit] Fixing some biased things

I think we should make a seperate category for controversy. First we should have all the info about the school and then we should have all the controversy.MOI 19:06, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree. This article is unbelievable. Valarauka 20:17, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

I added some stuff on the curriculum and where the old article started i added Controversy and made it a category. Oh and i wrote everything in my own words. MOI 21:05, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I think it looks a lot better now. Valarauka 01:34, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Valarauka you have done an excellent job on this page!MOI 00:02, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ISA Graduate: My Opinion

As a graduate from the Islamic Saudi Academy, this article is completely untrue. ISA taught the students to tolerate all religions and to respect all people. While those citations in the article aren’t entirely false (some are just absurd), however, people only want to criticize on half of the quote rather than display it all. Our Islamic teachers make sure that if anything in the Islamic books is false, they would correct it for us. We aren’t taught that the Jewish and Christian faiths are "untrue." ISA is a Muslim school, and yes, Islam will be the religion that is taught in school.

To those who believe that is a "terrorist" school, I just wanted to say that the ISA faculty and staff aren’t all comprised of Muslims. There are many other teachers who aren’t of the Muslim faith. The faculty and students all cooperate with each other, and religion is not an issue at all. Our sports team plays other private schools (many Christian schools).

We are just like any other school, with the students getting accepted to prestigious colleges such as George Mason University, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Georgetown (just to name a few, the list is long).

--I know what you mean. It is completely like a normal school. They dont teach anything about Christianity or Judaism. Why would they? Its an Islamic School.MOI 21:09, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

--Hey IMI. Lol.MOI 23:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

--At the moment i go to the school... hardly any of our teachers are Muslim except for Arabic and Islamic and our teachers always told us to respect other religions and other peoples point of views...i think what is written on here is vary unfair... for more info on the school go 2 saudiacademy.net imi 02:26, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Questionable source

I cannot find any credible source whatsoever that indicates that, at any time, the Baltimore Sun published an article entitled "Islamic Saudi Academy is Criticized Again." I have found only two news articles concerning Ismail Selim Elbarasse, or indeed any person named Ismail Selim. Please provide full citations for the appropriate articles so I may double-check them and attempt to find a reliable source. Not even Google found it anywhere else. Based on that, I will be tagging the relevant portion of the article as a suspected hoax - freemuslims.org is not a credible source, and may indeed be... how shall I put it delicately... male bovine fecal matter. Captainktainer * Talk 02:03, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

If you can't find reliable sources, go ahead and pull the sections; no need to leave 'delicately phrased' stuff in the article. Nice job on finding the Post article. - Valarauka(T/C) 02:10, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
He's right. Lets remove it becuz there is no source for it. Besides the sources that are provided ado not seem to be reliable sources. WHO's WITH ME HERE??MOI 20:22, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SOURCES

--Where are you ppl getting this stuff from? I hate to say this but i feel like everything is false. You know why? They dont teach about CHristians or Jews at all. Rather they teach about teh Muslim faith. Why do yuo not understand this. Go to the ISA website. www.saudiacademy.netMOI 20:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

At this point, I have removed all sources that do not meet the reliable sources guideline (Speaking of, is it a guideline or essay this week? Have they stopped edit warring over there?). The only two sources that are even somewhat questionable for the claims made in the article are the WorldNetDaily article (which still qualifies, in my opinion) and the claims sourced to the school itself. If you are curious as to where any particular claim in the article comes from, simply click the appropriate references link. Captainktainer * Talk 15:22, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notable or Notorious

There's still room for improvement for this entry. The subsection regarding "notable" people linked to ISA reads like a list of notorious individuals. As mentioned in a previous post, there is not even a single mention of Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the school's founder and former chairman of ISA's board of trustees. Prince Bandar is notable for being one of the longest serving ambassadors to the United States having served from 1983 to 2005. Also, to mention that the school is accused of promoting terrorism at the very beginning of the entry sets a skewed and unbalanced tone for the rest of the entry. The fact that there is a separate section for "Controversy" should suffice.Jaydden 17:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

I know this is really random, but Bandar in Urdu mean Monkey. I dont knwo what it means in Arabic though.....MOI 20:30, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

i think bandar is a kinda food in arabic im not sure. imi2012
