Island Conservation Society

Island Conservation Society was registered as an NGO in Seychelles in April 2001. The articles state the goal and mission of the organisation as follows:
The Society promotes the conservation and restoration of island ecosystems, sustainable development of islands, and awareness of their vulnerability and vital importance to the planet's biodiversity
Island Conservation Society has managed Aride Island Nature Reserve since October 2004. In 2007, an agreement was signed with the Government parastatal company Island Development Company for conservation management in the outer islands of Seychelles.
Island Conservation Society also employs scientists and rangers at a conservation centre on Alphonse Atoll.
Island Conservation Society was admitted as a member of IUCN in November 2007. The Head Office is situated at Pointe Larue, Mahe, Seychelles.
