Islamic Foundation School

The Islamic Foundation School or IFS is a Preschool-12th grade school in Villa Park, Illinois. It was established in 1986 by the Islamic Foundation, Villa Park. Students are also taught about Islam in addition to academic subjects. It serves approximately 750 students.
It is also one of the largest Islamic schools in America[1]. Many of its graduates were accepted to prestigious universities such as University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Champaign and many others. Most of the students reside in trailers, but the new school building construction has started as of May 2007. The construction will be ongoing for 18 months. The groundbreaking of the building was in May 2007. The school is a majority of people of South Asian, with a 2/3 majority. The remaining 1/3 is students of Arabic descent. Currently the principal is Mrs. Audrey Zahra Williams.[citation needed]
