[edit] Image:Mescalero tipis.jpg
Hi, you just uploaded Image:Mescalero tipis.jpg and it needs some sort of copyright tag. Ie, if it is GNU FDL then add {{GFDL}} or if public domain {{PD}}. Evil Monkey → Talk 22:18, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)

- I dont know about this. I believe the photograph is public domain, but the Denver Public Library says its pages are copyrighted with permission given for fair use. I guess this applies to the digital reproductions? I dont know. If the digital images are copyrighted then I suppose Wikipedia people will have to contact the library if they want to sell this. Since you probably know more about this can you verify the status? I have labelled all my uploaded pictures with 3 fair use tags. Cheers!

- Having read through the copyright stuff I've decided to go with {{Fairold}} seeing as the image was created at the turn of the century. Evil Monkey → Talk

[edit] Re language
to sia!
I consulted a book, I got it from the library. I believe it is called something along the lines of "dictionary of the western apache language".
I have my own Apache dictionary which has more words, but it doesn't have placenames.

[edit] how's inflection confused w/ synthesis
Hi Ish.
You've been putting lots of flags on Inflection without ever actually discussing the confusion you point out.
If my understanding is correct, an inflected language changes nouns and/or verbs, by either agglutination or fusion, to reflect grammatical functions such as case, tense, mood, etc.
A synthetic language is a term for languages that place more than one morpheme (meaning unit, including grammatical markers), into a single word
By these definitions, all inflected languages are synthetic, though not all synthetic languages need be inflected, right?
So how (other than organizationally) is the Inflection article in need of loving attention? Can you help me make it right?
Best regards, Steverapaport 11:41, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- I moved yr question & put my answer here: Talk:Inflection. - Ish ishwar 19:40, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I think I may have fixed Inflection now, thanks to your help. If you agree (or even mostly agree), why not remove the "attention" tag and correct any remaining problems you see? Thanks. Steverapaport 20:26, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] deletion
Why are you marking those redirects for deletion? I don't see the reason for a speedy delete. If there is a good reason, please explain, thanks. -- Infrogmation 20:12, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Yes, you are right. I didnt realize why there were redirects. But I see this is how Wikipedia deals with alternate spellings. I was trying to get rid of pages that link to the redirects & then eliminate the redirects. Sorry for the trouble. - Ish ishwar 20:06, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
