Talk:Ishvara

[edit] What was the original nonsense?
The few lines stuff that this page had originally, was utter rubbish. It gave wrong dictionary definition of Ishvara, talked of only Vaisheshika philosophy, a rather shady one. Also the guy gave his own views about "equating Ishvara with Saguna Brahman".
I have now expanded the article, writing about Ishvara concept in all Hindu philosophies without rubbing off the original guy's.
I also strongly suggest that this article should be merged with "Ishwara", which redirects automaticaly to Saguna Brahman, which I have also edited, because the difference is only of transliteration. Cygnus_hansa 20:04, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- Do you want to merge this article with Saguna Brahman? If not, then we should move this article to Ishwara, and make Ishvara a redirect to Ishwara. — goethean ॐ 21:19, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
No, I think Saguna Brahman should remain a separate page and delinked with Ishwara. What you say is desirable.Cygnus_hansa 14:01, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Done
I have already done the required moving.Cygnus_hansa 15:07, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
- Ishwara currently redirects to Saguna Brahman. Shouldn't it redirect to Ishvara? — goethean ॐ 15:54, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Merge
Both the terms refer to the same thing.--Babub→Talk 16:06, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- If there is a merge then I would vote that the main article heading remains as Ishvara, as this is far more well known (87,000 Google hits vs 34,000 for example). Regards, GourangaUK 11:54, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
