Ishmail Spicer

Ishmael (Ishmail) Spicer was born on March 27th,1760 in Bozrah, Connecticut and died in December 22nd, 1832; he was a publisher in Baltimore,[1] teacher, and one of the first American composers.[2] Ishmael Spicer founded the first singing school in Baltimore in 1789 a future student would include John Cole. [3][4]
