Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and Healthcare (IUMS), is a large medical school of Iran.
Located in south-central Isfahan, the university was established in 1946 under the name "The Higher Institute of Health" (آموزشگاه عالي بهداري), operating under the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In 1950, the institute was elevated to the "School of Medicine", and soon came under the administration of the University of Isfahan.
Finally, in 1986 the school was separated from its parent institute The University of Isfahan, becoming an independent entity of its own once again.
With 12 hospitals and 35 departments, the university is currently a regional health care provider and the main medical center in Isfahan Province.
