Isaac Regional Council

Isaac Regional Council is a proposed Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. The Local Government Area will be created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in Central Queensland, will contain the entire area of three existing Local Government Areas;

• Shire of Belyando;
• Shire of Broadsound; and
• Shire of Nebo.

The report recommends that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect eight councillors and a mayor. The Isaac Regional Council will cover an area of 58,862 square kilometres (22,727 sq mi), contain an estimated resident population in 2006 of 20,443 and have an operating budget of AUD46.0m.

The Regional Council will cover the towns of Carmila, Clermont, Coppabella, Dysart, Glenden, Middlemount, Moranbah and St Lawrence and the villages/communities of Clairview, Greenhill, and Ilbilbie.
