Isaac Karabtchevsky

Isaac Karabtchevsky (December 27, 1934 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian conductor. Karabtchevsky conducted the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro until 1988 when he moved to Vienna to take the lead at Tonkünstlerorchester. He has Russian ancestry [1]. In 1995 he took the reins of direction at Grande Teatro La Fenice in Venice. From 2003, Karabtchevsky has been the director of Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra, Brazil.
