Irving Island

Irving Island (66°25′S, 67°4′W) is a small island at the northeast end of the Barcroft Islands, in the Biscoe Islands. Mapped from air photos taken by Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (FIDASE) (1956-57). Named by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Laurence Irving, American physiologist who has specialized in the effects of a polar environment.
