[edit] Christine Smith

If you create an article about a person, it might be considerate to check if any articles referring to a different person links to the page, and if required unlink the page. Thanks, Andjam 10:54, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are you sure?

I was going to put some sort of "Cleanup" tag on Omarosa Manigault, but I didn't want to do so since I wasn't sure whether or not the article needs to be cleaned-up neither I want to admit that it's NPOV. Did you went over the article carefully before putting an NPOV tag on the article? Just curious. Thanx. — Mark Kim (Reply/Start Talk) 00:28, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Film criticism

Hello. I was just wondering why you put an NPOV tag on Film criticism without explaining why on the talk page or in your edit summary. When I read the article and edited it, it seemed fine to me. Could you give some reasons why you don't think it is NPOV on the article's talk page so as myself and other editors may be able to improve the article? Thanks. Gershwinrb 02:19, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I have posted a response to your message on Talk:Film criticism. In the future, you should leave a little note about why you put up an NPOV tag (or any tag for that matter) on the article's Talk Page so other editors will be able to understand why you think the article needs to be improved. Happy editing! Gershwinrb 05:32, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:June2006playboy.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:June2006playboy.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:06, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Playboy

Since I changed out Dorothy Stratten's name for Ursula Andress, would you say that you're okay with the factual accuracy of the section of the Playboy article now? Dismas|(talk) 19:54, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Athlete pictorials are fairly low in number but then that's also partially due to the fact that there aren't that many well known female athletes (when compared to men). And then weed out those that Playboy wouldn't be interested in based on their looks and you have an even lower number of available candidates. I also have no problem with changing the list from Sports to Supermodels or Bond girls (hmmm.... Bond girls... Wonder how many of those have posed...) since I didn't create the lists in the first place, I'm not really all that concerned with the specific categories. I do think the lists are a good addition to the article though since the celebrities are often what gets the magazine sold because guys want to see the celebs in the nude. Maybe once we're done staining our bookcase I'll go through the magazines to find some sports figures. I could go through the list here but then where's the fun in just looking at a list of names.  :-) I'll go remove the tag then... Dismas|(talk) 20:08, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed Dahm triplets image?

You removed the Playboy cover from the article Nicole, Erica and Jaclyn Dahm with the enlightening comment "it's NSFW". WDTM? :-). If you're worried about fair use rationale, you'll notice the entire reason the Dahm triplets are notable is because of their Playboy appearances. That seems like a very important reason to have their only Playboy cover, rather a high point. I added the fair use rationale to the Image:Dahm Playboy AU cover.jpg page and restored the image, hope that's all right. AnonEMouse (squeak) 12:22, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Ah - NSFW = Not Safe For Work. I think this particular cover image is OK - nothing frontal. Also see the extensive discussions linked to from Wikipedia: Pornography - there are many more explicit things in the Wikipedia. AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:13, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
After further discussion, it's been replaced with a safer image. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 16:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Last Name

I noticed you changed Eva to Pigford on Eva Pigford's page. Why is it that in every person page they always use the last name but only use the first name once?? Lil Flip246 16:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

[edit] Please cite

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Poseidon (film), but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please find and add a reliable citation to your recent edit so we can verify your work. Uncited information may be removed at any time. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! --Yamla 15:55, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Please do not add any more articles to that category unless the article itself already explicitly supports the category or unless you provide a reliable citation. Thanks. --Yamla 16:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi Ohyeahmormons, I have replied to a few of your comments and posted a message on Talk:Garden State (film). I have moved the Themes section from the article to the talk, as I feel its inappropriate to have a non-neutral, unreferenced section in the article, though Themes can be incorporated if done right. I reckon we can take down the clean up sign, as overall I think the article is quite good, the plot needs to be decreased and cast expanded, but its a quality article, and those issues would just improve the quality, and I think at the moment, its not worthy of a clean up tag just for those issues, as its pretty well written, has some good references and is pretty well structured and comprehensive. Anway, what do yo think, could we take it down? Please share your thoughts on the GS talk page, and thanks for taking an interest in making the article better! Thanks. Sunrise50 08:43, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I really hope that you can improve this article. But if you do, expect to be reverted and a few gallons of abuse. Wallie 15:58, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New template

Just thought you might like to know about a new template I created. It's at {{Playmate}}. It basically adds the text "Jane Doe at Playboy.com" to the external links section of Playmate's articles where their name is linked to their Playmate stats at the site. August through November of this year don't work because Playboy has yet to update their site with the Playmate's bio's but the rest work just fine. With your past work on Playboy related pages, I thought you might like to know about it. Dismas|(talk) 11:15, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you very much, I think that's actually rather useful. :) Ohyeahmormons 14:06, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birth date and age template

I was wondering if you might add your thoughts to the talk page atTemplate talk:Infobox Playboy Playmate in regards to the birth date and age template. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 03:36, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Signature

For general info, see WP:SIG. For what I have used in mine, go to your preferences, under "User profile" put [[User:Ohyeahmormons|Ohyeahmormons]]|[[User talk:Ohyeahmormons|(talk)]] into the signature box and then make sure the "Raw signature" box is checked. You can play around with different things like color and such as well. You'll find guidelines about what's acceptable and what isn't on the SIG page. Hope this helps, Dismas|(talk) 21:43, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Barbwireposter.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Barbwireposter.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 23:06, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jaden Smith

You recently removed sourced information from the article Jaden Smith. While you find this information as WP:POV, since it comes from a reliable source (USA Today, in this case), and is from an article title Oscar Pursuit for Jaden Smith would be natural, it is providing a prospective on the actors abilities from a credible publication. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 03:21, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I removed "sourced information" that you didn't correctly source. Without saying "Whoever says blah blah blah", it simply said "He's an actor who is better than whatever the article said." Irk(talk) 03:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Playboy_June_1996.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Playboy_June_1996.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 00:24, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy keeping on the AFDs

It's best to tell you here:

  1. Your reasoning isn't in the speedy keep deadlines.
  2. Even if it is being recorded, there is no guarentee of release (e.g. Chinese Democracy has been in the studio ten years, but that's already notable). (WP:ATA#CRYSTAL)
  3. For some, there is not even a valid source to prove that they're being recorded.
  4. Finally, yes, there are other articles, over half of the "untitled album" articles are at AFD (see also WP:WAX)

[edit] Next month's playmate source

Quite often, this web site is used as a source of info for who the next Playboy Playmate will be. Since anons use this site as a source when they update the next month's info, I wanted to know where the site was getting its info. So, I went to the U of Chicago web site and asked who's site it was (student, faculty, etc.) and if they could help me find out the ultimate source. I got the following reply:

My advance information about upcoming Playmates usually comes from two sources: the Next Month page in the current issue of PLAYBOY; and the online Playboy TV schedule: http://www.playboyenterprises.com/pbtv_schedule/index.cfm On that page is a link to the current month's schedule, and from that page there is a link to Next Month. If you then pull up the full month's listing, search the page for "World of Playboy". Starting mid-month, the name of the following month's Playmate will appear. I think those sources are very reliable, but still there are occasional late changes and what is scheduled may not happen in reality.

Just thought you might want to know, in case you ever wonder or if someone else wants to know how reliable the source is. Dismas|(talk) 21:45, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
