Irish Confederation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

See Confederate Ireland for the period of Irish self-government between 1641 and 1649.

The Irish Confederation [1] was an Irish nationalist independence movement, established on January 13, 1847 by members of the Young Ireland movement who had seceded from the Repeal Association[2][3]. Historian T. W. Moody described it as "the official organisation of Young Ireland".[1]
