A railroad cut along the Iron Range and Huron Bay Railroad. The IR&HB faced hilly country throughout; some grades reached 5-8%. This image is taken from the Upper Peninsula Digitization Center Collections and is believed to be in the public domain. Although not specifically dated by the collection, this image must fall between 1890 and 1892, when the line was under construction.
