[edit] Flag
Why has the wikipedia compromise Irish rugby flag been used? As I understand the team is representative of the island of Ireland, I'm going to stick with St. Patrick's Saltire until a suitable flag is made or found - this SHAMrock doesn't feature anywhere in Team Ireland's logo etc. Plus, it looks dreadful.--Belacqua Shuah (talk) 00:43, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
How about this, almost identical to the team's logo:
The flag used by Team Ireland is the Republic of Ireland Tricolour flag as per the IIHA and IIHF. Players in Northern Ireland are allowed choose between either playing for Great Britain or Ireland. The GB's team flag is not changed when Northern Ireland players play for GB (reference Graham Walton) therefore it is incorrect to change Team Irelands. If the IIHA & IIHF use the the Republic of Ireland Tricolour flag then that is what should be used here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.232.107 (talk) 17:00, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
See IIHF and IIHA website links for reference to appropriate flag http://www.iihf.com/iihf-home/countries/ireland.html and http://www.iiha.org/ice_hockey/championships2008/participants.php 99.230.232.107 (talk) 18:53, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
That's good enough for me. Belacqua Shuah (talk) 19:31, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Owen Nolan?
-May have been born in Belfast, but as this is a page for the National team and Owen Nolan has never played for the Irish National Team- Owen was removed.
Point remains. Owen Nolan has nothing to do with Team Ireland to my knowledge. I ask anybody that has proof otherwise to post it here before editing. Otherwise, Owen Nolan should be removed by anybody. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.107.45.200 (talk) 02:29, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Irish national ice hockey team logo.png
Image:Irish national ice hockey team logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
