[edit] Vandalism of this page

I removed the aim "To play down Palestinian suicide bombings and emphasise any Israeli military action in the Occupied Territories." -Greg Timony

I have removed the 'aim' - "To deny the holocaust, and promote islamofascism" which is most defintely not one of the stated aims of the IPSC. This piece of vandalism was carried out by someone with the IP Address 89.100.226.186 [[1]]

Another malicious attack on the 'Aims' section: this time by IP 212.58.233.129 [[2]]

It is highly contentious to say that this group is committed to a just peace in the Middle East. It chooses entirely to ignore and/or reject Israel's point of view. For this reason, it can only be regarded as a propaganda lobby. It would seem to be working towards the delegitimisation and ultimately the destruction of the state of Israel. Moreover, it and other groups like it have had the effect of contributing significantly to the creation of a hostile climate for Jews, who naturally support Israel, in Ireland. This in turn is draining Ireland of its Jewish population. It may also be that recent anti-semitic acts in Ireland, such as cemetery desecrations, which have never happened in previous eras, are the indirect result of this organisation's activities.

The page notes that the IPSC has the following aims: =To foster links between Palestinian and Irish institutions and organisations in the area of health, education and the global economy. =To promote Palestinian culture, including literature, music and arts in Ireland. Can anyone point me to anything the IPSC has actually done to further those aims? I've certainly seen them protesting at Israeli cultural events, but I've never seen them promote a Palestinian one. Reply to this comment: we don't "ignore" Israel's point of view - we analyse and reject it, insofar as it consists merely in fallacious rationalisations of brutal policy decisions. Given the number of Jews worldwide who participate in campaigns such as ours, it's nonsense to say that we're "contributing... to the creation of a hostile climate for Jews..." Such a climate (which exists nowhere any more, not even in Iran) might well come into being were the impression given that Israel = Jews. It's also nonsense to say that the IPSC is "draining Ireland of its Jewish population" even indirectly, and your accusation about cemetery desecrations is mere slander: such things started happening some years ago, were immediately denounced by the IPSC, and were subsequently revealed to be the work of one demented individual who had no connection whatsoever with the IPSC. If you've "never seen [us] promote a Palestinian" cultural event, then you haven't kept your eyes and ears open - we have promoted many, including films and concerts. Reply to the above comment [by Harpo Hermes]- If you want to play silly games with semantics then I could accuse people like you of fostering a hostile climate for arabs and we could on and on with claims and counter-claims. However I personally oppose Isreal as a racist state created with the help of the ethnic cleansing of much of its population in 1948(which the palestinians call the Nakba/castastrophy). I used to consider myself a zionist years ago but was forced to reassess my position after meeting a palestinian refugee. I had to conclude that my position then in supporting Isreal was a racist one based on denigration of palestinians as a kind of primitive culture, for example I believed the propanganda line that they ran-away. I believe there will be no just peace until Isreal begins to consider the question of its past and present ethnic cleansings. As to anti-semitic acts in Ireland (I assume you mean specific anti-Jewish racism, palestinians are semitic people too) I deplore them (and all racist activity). However they are not a recent phenonomen. There was an actual pogrom in Limerick in 1904 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Limerick#The_.22Limerick_Pogrom.22. More worryingly there does seem to be evidence of an increase in racist attacks in general in Ireland in recent times http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4161/is_20010107/ai_n9708833 and it's something we must all try to combat.

These are my personal opinion on the state of Isreal, etc. Other IPSC members may have somewhat different opinions. However all the members I have talked to share my opposition to all racism. - Greg Timony (member IPSC) 83.70.228.163 14:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Logo ipsc.jpg

Image:Logo ipsc.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

82.5.162.197 14:36, 12 September 2007 (UTC) The IPSC betrays its polemical nature by consistently engaging in anti-Israel hate speech. The tenor of this hate speech cannot but fail to distress the majority of Jews. Naturally, this mood also dominates its media and other activism in Ireland. There is anecdotal evidence (from Jews who have recently left Ireland) that they emigrated to due to a general climate of anti-Israel bias and hostility, fostered at least in part by the Ireland Palestinian Solidarity Society.

Hence, the IPSC cannot properly be said to be contributing to a climate of rational debate about the world's only Jewish country and the fate of the Jewish people.
