Irena Górska-Damięcka

Irena Górska-Damięcka (20 October 1910 – 1 January 2008) was a Polish actress, mise en scène, and theater directer, called by some the "grand dame" of Polish theater.

Born in Ashmyany, Belarus, she came from a family of actors/actresses. Her husband, Dobieslaw Damiecki, whom she married in 1940, was one; as were her children, Damian Damiecki and Maciej Damiecki; and her grandchildren, Grzegorz Damiecki, Mateusz Damiecki, Matylda Damiecka.
She died on New Year's Day, 2008 at the age of 97 in Skolimów, Poland.
