Ireland Trophy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ireland Trophy, created by the student governments at Boston College and Notre Dame in 1995, is presented annually "as a token of goodwill, camaraderie and the friendly rivalry" to the winner of the Notre Dame-Boston College football game. While the two teams have met on the field 16 times since 1975, with Notre Dame leading the series 9 to 7, the trophy has been awarded only 10 times, 5 times to each school. In addition to this trophy, the winner is also awarded with the Frank Leahy Memorial Bowl, presented by the Notre Dame Club of Boston.
