The Iraqi-Kurdistan national football team is the official football team for the Iraqi-Kurdistan. They are not affiliated with FIFA or Asian Football Confederation, and therefore cannot compete for the FIFA World Cup or Asian Cup. The Kurdistan federation attended a meeting of the New Federation Board in June 2006[1] but did not become a member. A team representing Iraqi-Kurdistan lost a friendly match 3-0 to the Iraq U-23 national team. They will play in the 2008 VIVA World Cup.
