Presidential elections will be held in Iran in mid-2009. It will be the 10th presidential elections to be held in the country, with incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad likely to seek re-election. On 25th February 2008, Mohammad Khatami said that, if Mehdi Karroubi registers as a candidate, he would not participate as a candidate in the election. [1]
