Irakleides

Irakleides (Ηρακλείδες) is a municipality on the island of Kos, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Population 6,963 (2001). It is the largest in area of the three municipalities on the island, at 160.538 km², and comprises 55.3% of the island's territory. The seat of the municipality is in Antimacheia (pop. 2,205). The largest village is Kefalos (2,458). Kardamena (1,783), Mastihari (368), Kampos (69), Onia (48), and Kamarion (32) are the rest of the villages in the municipality. The municipality shares the island of Kos with the municipalities of Kos and Dikaio.
