Ira Berkow

Ira Berkow (born January 7, 1940) is an Pulitzer Prize-winning sports reporter for the New York Times.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Berkow did his undergraduate work at Miami University and graduate work at Northwestern University.
He received the Pulitzer Prize in 2001 for his series How Race Is Lived in America--The Minority Quarterback. He was a finalist for the Pulitzer in 1988. He has been a sportswriter for the New York Times since 1969 and has written a number of books.
