Iqbal Khan is currently Managing Director of HSBC's Amanah Finance division, London, United Kingdom.
Iqbal was formerly the Managing Director of Citi-Islamic Investment Bank E.C (January 1998 to June 1998) and Global Head for Islamic Finance for Citicorp. Before that he was the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Islamic Investment Company of the Gulf (Bahrain) from 1993-1997. He is also a member of the Management Committee of the DMI Group and a member and secretary of the profit committee of the DMI Group. In addition, Khan is a Director at the Gulf Investment Company of Labuan, Malaysia. He is also a Director for the Islamic Development Bank's Islamic Banks Portfolio. Khan is a member of the Operating Board for the Harvard Islamic Finance Information Program, and a Director of the International Association of Islamic Banks. Khan's firm is the sole sponsor of HIFIP. He obtained an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations (1977-1979) and a B.Sc. with honors in Physics and Chemistry, both from Aligarh Muslim University (India). He has held previous positions as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at the Bridge Corporation (U.K) Ltd (1989-1992). He was the Vice President and Middle East Regional Director for Dean Witter Capital Markets International Ltd, UK (1986-1989).
He was born on February 12, 1957. Khan is an Indian national and a Resident of the United Kingdom. He is married and has six children.
