Iqaluit Public Transit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Iqaluit Public Transit system operated from 2002 to 2005 to provide public transportation in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada. Mounting costs and low ridership forced city council to cancel the service in late 2004 and it ceased operations January 2005.[1]
[edit] History
Contract for the first public transit system was given to Bob Hanson. The desire was to ease congestion on the city's roads and provide a cheaper alternative to taxi and cars.
