Image talk:IPhone Home.png

This image may be a bad idea as an illustration. It's jailbroken; it shows extra icons not on a "normal" iPhone. 200.127.223.79 (talk) 00:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

This image does not show a jailbroken iPhone; however, it does show an iPhone running an older firmware (1.1.1 or 1.1.2) rather than the 1.1.4 that is claimed. The positioning of the iTunes Wi-fi Store over the iPod icon confirms this. Is there any way to get another awesome, high-quality image like this of 1.1.4? ---revert--- please revert to version 05:51, 11 June 2008. The current image, which was reverted to the second version (with a lower resolution) looks disgusting. Thank you

This has been reverted to the version I took due to copyright issues. The version you like, while prettier, was taken from Apple's site and cannot be used under fair use (sorry). To the first anon and multifinder17, I don't think we should get too hung up on whether it's a vanilla version of the latest firmware. Otherwise we'll be constantly chasing the latest and greatest version of the OS. That endless race can be saved for articles on the iPhone operating system.Mattnad (talk) 14:51, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Revert

I have changed the image away from the jailbroken version. I think the jailbroken version should not be used in as the official picture in the article. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:38, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

The image you picked is a copyright violation. Hope that's no concern. Mattnad (talk) 17:57, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
All versions of the image are techincally copyrighted. That is why there is a fair use rationale. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 17:58, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Let me clarify, the photograph was is taken from Apple's website. Wikipedia does not permit that, even under fair use. Mattnad (talk)
