What was the company that made Ipana?

After decades of popularity, Bristol-Meyers discontinued Ipana in 1968. Eventually, the brand name was purchased by Proctor & Gamble

[edit] Contradiction

Okay, Ipana either:

  1. Disappearred in 1968
  2. Declined in the early 1970s
  3. Was bought by Proctor and Gamble
  4. Was reintroduced in 2005 by River West Brands
  5. Is the leading toothpaste in Turkey

If usage declined in the 1970s, it must not have been taken off the market in 1968. If P&G bought it, what did they do with it? If it was off the market until 2005, I find it hard to believe it's the leading toothpaste in Turkey just two years later. How did River West Brands get the rights to it?

Whatever the case, some reliable sources are needed. Kafziel Talk 17:53, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
