Ipath

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ipath is a San Francisco based skateboard footwear and clothing company founded by Brian Krauss and skateboard professional Matt Field. Ipath's products are inspired by colors and imagery from Rastafarian and Hindu roots as well as from its own Northern California resources.. Their slogan is Follow Your Path.

While their shoes are primarily skateboarding specific, they also feature "chill" models designed more for style over skate functionality.

They are perhaps best known for their Grasshopper shoe, a popular hightop available in many different colours and materials which has remained a mainstay and staple model for many years.

Another distinctive Ipath characteristic is the inclusion of a hidden stash pocket inside the tongue of the shoe.

Ipath offers pro signature model shoes including the Field, the Jones, the Watson, and the Reed. Bigfoot, a San Francisco based graffiti artist, also has his own shoe and his artwork is featured prominently throughout the Ipath line.

Longtime rider Tim O'Connor left Ipath for Adidas in October 2006.[1]

Ipath has released a promo video on DVD by Dan Wolfe featuring their pro and team riders with a full-length DVD to be released in the future.

On April 26, 2007, Ipath was acquired by The Timberland Company. Ipath will continue to be run independently.[2]
