[edit] Security viewpoint & problems with interpretation
- Don't think about it as about hash - like sha256(ip). IP space is small, it's trivial to build a dictionary.
- If it would be something like sha256(ip + secret_key), privacy of all ips depends on secrecy of that secret_key, forever. There is now way how the system would be able to recover from successful attack.
- IP data are often misleading without further investigation and good understanding of internet technology. Its trivial to foil such test, false positives are certain
