[edit] History
There were two previous versions of Iowa Highway 26. The first was established in 1920, lasted until 1930, and went east from Rock Valley to what is now U.S. 75. The second lasted between 1930 and January 1, 1969, went between U.S. 18 at Inwood and Iowa Highway 9 near Larchwood, Iowa. This version of Iowa Highway 26 became Iowa Highway 182 on January 1, 1969 in a numbering swap, as the current Iowa Highway 26 had previously been Iowa Highway 182.[1]
