The Iowa Cow War of 1931 involved violent disputes over the testing of cows for tuberculosis. A number of Iowa farmers believed that veterinarians of the Iowa State College were conspiring to fake test results, and they revolted -- attacking the state veterinarian, when he was at the farm of Jake Lenker. The National Guard suppressed the uprising.
