Talk:Iou Kuroda

[edit] Iou vs. Iō
I wasn't sure if Kuroda's given name would be best romanized Iou or Iō. Depends on which romanization system you prefer. I also wondered if there should be a pronunciation guide since users unfamiliar with Japanese might not know how to pronounce his name: it's EE-oh, not EYE-oh. CES 07:12, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)
It means 'sulfur', so many Americans would be more familiar with the pronounciation 'Iwo', from Iwo Jima. However that pronounciation isn't correct, either. Should we add something about what his name means?
