Iota-1 Scorpii is a yellow-white F-type supergiant with an apparent magnitude of +3.02. (Different sources give apparent magnitudes in the range 2.99–3.03.) It is approximately 1800 light years from Earth. It has a 13th magnitude companion 37.5 arcseconds, or at least 20,000 astronomical units (AU), away from it.
