IOOF is an Australian financial services company specialising in investment and superannuation management. It currently manages over AU$29bn of funds. It was founded in 1846 by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows[1], and evolved out of the Victorian Branch of the Lodge.[2] Its head office is currently located in Collins Street, Melbourne. In 2003 IOOF listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. It currently has approximately 30,000 shareholders.
In September 2007 IOOF announced that it would start charging same-sex couples under the same fee-structure currently offered to heterosexual couples, the changes will allow customers to link up to four accounts and make savings on overall deposits of $500,000 or higher. The move was applauded by gay and lesbian rights campaigners.[3]
