Ion storm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ion storm may refer to:
- An interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME), a disruption of the fast and slow solar winds, often called "ion storm", "solar storm" or "space storm"
- Ion Storm Inc., a defunct games software company
- A type of electric or seemingly electric phenomenon in science fiction, with no agreement on their specific nature. In the Tiberian Command & Conquer games, they act like intense thunderstorms on an un-terraforming Earth that ground aircraft, disrupt radar and force population centers to construct dedicated shelters. In Twilight Imperium, they're free-standing deep space disturbances that cast their effects for parsecs. In Star Trek, they're charged and potentially dangerous magnetic storms.
