Ion Vélez Martínez (born February 17, 1985 in Tafalla, Navarre is a Spanish/Basque footballer currently playing for Hércules CF on loan from Athletic Bilbao as a striker.
Vélez made his debut for Athletic on August 28, 2007 in the goalless home draw with Osasuna.
As of autumn 2007, Vélez is not technically a member of the first team squad (numbers 1-25). However, he is eligible to play in La Liga as he still is a registered member of Athletic's B-team Bilbao Athletic.
