[edit] AfD nomination of Miscellaneous of Boxing

Miscellaneous of Boxing, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Miscellaneous of Boxing satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miscellaneous of Boxing and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Miscellaneous of Boxing during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. - East718

~~Io_Wiki2007~~ Sure, no problem. I deleted all my contribution as your request.

I think you might be confused what was left on you talk page was a notification letting you know that a article you created or have heavily contributed has been nominated for deletion, this means that it will be taken for consideration before the community not that you have to delete any contributive addition you have made to other articles. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure you understand what's going on. All your contributions are valued here, it's just that Miscellaneous of Boxing was nominated for deletion because it doesn't seem to serve much purpose. I've restored all your other articles except for your userpage for now, because they are indeed useful and I'll work on integrating them into the main boxing articles. east.718 at 01:48, 10/26/2007

Please sign your posts with ~~~~; you don't need to type out your name every time. I also restored your userpage, and fixed a couple bugs that caused weird problems. :) east.718 at 01:58, 10/26/2007 01:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject membership

You don't normally have to ask to join wikiprojects (although a tiny few make an exception). Just put your name on the list of members and you're in. I must warn you though that the cryptozoology project is a very inactive group - Wikiproject paranormal is a lot more active and covers most of the same ground. [edit] List of boxing triple champions

Hello, Alexf Thanks for editing in my list of triple champions. I am new here despite have long time as a registered user. I requested full protection for my list of Triple Champions but I am not sure if I did in the right way. Any time a active fighter gain a new belt some guy come and edit without mercilessness my page. Hope you can help. How we can talk?

Best is through your Talk page. If you get full protection, nobody but Admins would be able to edit, so that may not be what you want. Semi-protection protects from Anon IP addresses and new users. Please read about page protection at Wikipedia:Protection policy. In order to request protection, place request at RFPP following the format as detailed there. Also please note that page protection is done in exceptional circumstances. As a rule, Wikipedia is open to anyone. Pages are protected only upon cases of persistent vandalism and generally for as little time as needed (there are of course exceptions when needed). -- Alexf42 22:09, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the reply. Yes, you are right; what my page needs is only a "Semi-protection".

Not exactly. Your page may need semi-protection if there is sufficient vandalism from anon IP addresses. In that case you got to WP:RFPP. -- Alexf42 10:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Also, yes, I agree with you: Wikipedia is open for the people. I just want people to do not delete information that was already researched and have its own references. I do not know if you read the 'How this list is made' article/introduction, but the entire essence of my page is about that format. People that do not respect the world minor boxing entities are erasing the information of some champions (generally still active) and that is a headache for me, and I do not want to be editing every day or every week tables that change of order, date, title, etc. Plus, the person that editing (and erasing data and chronological order) is not a registered Wikipedia user.

Unfotunately vandalism happens. There are some people that do not understand the project and do not want to collaborate positively. It is easier to vandalize than to add good, constructive edits. -- Alexf42 10:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Second, Alexf. I really do not understand the way of requesting 'Semi-protection', I have my doubts yet, plus I do not see my name/information I added today in that page Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I am confused with so many things there. I will try again.

Please try, just follow the directions putting a level 4 (4 equal signs) header at the TOP of the protection list {{la|ARTICLE}}. -- Alexf42 10:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Third, how I do to get my own E-mail icon, as the one you have in your page?

Please read WP:EMAIL and WP:TALK. Note that Talk pages are better than private email as a means of communication. Email is used for private information. Also note that contrary to what you say, nobody owns an article. See: WP:OWN. Any edits you make are liable to be re-edited, changed, refactored by other editors. That's the nature of a Wiki in general and Wikipedia in particular. -- Alexf42 10:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
