[edit] Renaming

The current title is not grammatically correct, so I propose we rename it to one of the following:

  • 1) "The Koloboks Investigate" - It's concise. Is it a correct translation, though? I think it probably is, but what do other people think?
  • 2) "The Investigation is Held by the Koloboks" - closer to the (grammatically-incorrect) translation at animator.ru, "The Investigation is Held by Koloboks" (there's a missing "the"; there is no word like "kolobok" in English, so we have to treat it as if it is their surname). The bad side is that it's not as memorable in English, and a bit too long.
  • 3) "Sledstviye vedut kolobki" - when unsure, perhaps it's best to simply transliterate (WP:RUS)

Each option has pros and cons. One thing I know is that if anyone were ever to release this film in English, the title would certainly be translated as "The Koloboks Investigate", because it's catchier and easier to remember. Esn 22:38, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Whatever you do, keep in mind an article Investigation held by Znatoki, it's the same story with the name. Animator.ru name is OK, though I prefer "Kolobki" (plural) spelling... (or would it be "Znatoks" in the example above). First one is fine, but reversing the russian title - investigation/следствие held by/ведут kolobki. And about the transliteration I can say that we have it - in the leading paragraph, there's no need to duplicate it in the title. --Yuriy Lapitskiy 05:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fish/cod liver oil

Is рыбий жир really cod liver oil, rather than fish oil? Esn 22:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, maybe, you know... That seems indifferent... In the film there's just fish, AFAIK in russian language (especially in USSR) there's no other fish oil then fish oil, even cod liver oil could be called fish oil. Or is cod not a fish? --Yuriy Lapitskiy 05:59, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
