[edit] Band history
Scrivner and Johnson began writing and recording Consolation Prizes in Las Vegas in 2001, with Millett on drums. While the album was being mixed, Millett left to form his own project. Seeking a replacement drummer, the band were briefly joined by Ronnie Vannucci Jr. before he joined The Killers.
Consolation Prizes was released in 2002 to critical acclaim. The Las Vegas Weekly compared the band to The Psychedelic Furs, while The Big Takeover drew comparisons with The Church and likened Scrivner's singing to that of Sunny Day Real Estate frontman Jeremy Enigk.
After recruiting Sinnott, formerly of the English rock band Family of Free Love, they released Nevertheless in the summer of 2005. Though Scrivner relocated to London after the release of Nevertheless to pursue a doctorate at the University of London's London Consortium, the band continued to write and release material. They spent January of 2007 recording their third full-length album in a Las Vegas studio.
Their upcoming release Yum Yellowcake features the song "The Natural Fashion," which Martin Crandall of The Shins had a hand in writing.
Inviolet Row have shared the stage with The Killers, Doris Henson, The Rodeo Boys, Big Friendly Corporation, Slow to Surface and Jovis.
